cross cultural friendshipSharing Jesus with a friend

Debbie and Gulya spend a lot of time together. Their friendship is on a deep level now as Gulya feels open to share about her personal struggles, especially in regards to her marriage. A few weeks ago, they met and Gulya was very upset about something.

At the end of the conversation Debbie felt that it was a good time to pray for her, so she asked if she could. “Yes, will it help?” she responded. So, Debbie prayed and they talked some more. Then, Gulya expressed interest in reading the Bible! It was a joy for Debbie to be able to give her a copy of the New Testament with Genesis and Exodus in her own minority language. Gulya fingered the special book and gazed at it in almost disbelief. “Wow, but it's in Uyghur,” she exclaimed. “I must also read this to my mother.”
